The Mountain: Allegorical Writing

The mountain, which was the greatest challenge of the children of NomanIstan, was a mountain of gargantuan proportions and the only tradition of the now moderately modernized Inutile, the capital of Nomanistan. The basis of the tradition was that children from all age groups had to climb the mountain. Children aged between 8-10 were to climb to the foot of the mountain and back, the children aged between 10-16 were made to climb to the plateau. The men and women aged 18 and above were made to climb to the summit and back. They said the summit climb had  the most merit but that was what they said and after the plateau nobody cared what they said. The whole point of the mountain climb was to experience how life beyond the mountain and some skills that were apparently necessary to life outside the mountain.

There was a young man called Luca who had just graduated into the summit climb with summis honoribus, meaning highest honors. He had a year to prepare for the climb and what the erudits teach is pretty basic survival skills but one thing that they claim that they do but dont is that they don’t teach you how to think but rather what to think. The key to surviving on a mountain as all good mountain climbers know is thinking on your feet yet thats the one thing they dont teach you. When Luca met the rest of his class he truly felt a lot of camaradrie and since he felt at ease with his friends it made the climb easier. He met his erudits later on he had 12 erudits. 3 for arthithematica, 3 for anglicus, 3 for survival training and 3 for climbing.  After a year of intense survival and climbing training, they finally made it to the day of the climb. The atmosphere at the foot of the climb is almost magical, mothers saying goodbye to their children and weeping, men and women having hope and a idealism that fills their person and makes them shine. It is truly beautiful. Luca and the group passiontley, and yet timidly  walked forward into the abyss. The snowy hell covered them with the snow
